Talking Flat Rat Jerky

A certain passionate photographer and power blogger at work made an extremely unsettling, but curiously delightful discovery when shooting one day- a completely flattened and rather leather-like rat corpse. She actually brought this deflated beast into the office in a little bag, and I even got to handle it a bit! (while it was in the bag, of course) What fun! After we all expressed our individual creeped-out feelings on the nearly petrified critter, she mentioned something about making images of it for art projects..

I figured that the image of this thing, (which I presume she was able to scan easily enough) would make an excellent candidate for recreating a t-shirt design I’d seen years ago. Thus, the funny tagline with my printed version of the rat corpse- which in an of itself is just a bit thinner than the real thing!
Apologies to Troy for the awkward positioning of the thing- I didn’t mean to have it make some ironic quasi-pun next to his thoughtful gift from last Festivus. ;-)
Good times!

LOL. That is the best dead rat art I’ve ever seen. The gauntlet has now been laid, I shall accept the challenge..
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
I was originally gonna take two of em, seal em together and wear em as a sort of bizarro coon skin cap-
Alas, I printed them a bit too small, and so after cutting out one, I could tell the two of em stuck together would not fit comfortably on my fat head.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you might make with the image! I think you could have a version of it made as a plushie, and it’d be a real hit for halloween! :-)
Harlequin: won’t they be impressed? I am a genius
See how i transformed this old rat
Into a most delightful hat?
Jack: Hmm, my compliments from me to you
On your most intriguing hat
Consider though this substitute
A bat in the place of this old rat
Huh! No, no, no, now that’s all wrong.
This thing will never make a present
It’s been dead now for much too long
Try something fresher, something pleasant.
Try again, don’t give up
Best use of movie quotability in 2008, would read again! A+++++ :-)
