Blue Beanie Day 2009 for Great Justice!
Monday, November 30, 2009 is the infamous Blue Beanie Day. I don't have a blue beanie, but BLUE is my favorite color! I've been studying this phenomenon, and more relevantly, the latest in sociological interactions amongst the perceived "God of Next Web" and the boggin'ed gent from NY whose likeness I sort of distilled down into a contemporary CCCP propaganda poster, which you can see by clicking this post's title or Read more below.
It's an outright nasty-ish fighting going on betwixt web weasels who should instead, show more web weasel-y love to one another already. I suggest an innocent game of Twister to resolve it all, gents.
The situation is almost as shocking to me (thought completely unrelated) as the day I toured the The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a little onion of barely eleven years old, and saw Polish-speaking people in front of me at certain exhibits, some wearing Solidarność emblazoned t-shirts.
I could not help but wonder- are these actually Russian spies, only prentending to be Polish people enjoying this museum and its antiquated nuclear secrets? (Lost Alamos being close by, after all)? Yeah, so if you were touring there in summer of 1983 and saw this terrified honkey back behind you- that would probably be me. I didn't understand you and Lech Wałęsa back then, but now I have the story straight.
What's *that* got to do with this posting?! Well, simple! Just look at it- Eastern bloc peeps knew how to design and rock the scary garb! The t-shirt I saw those people wearing looked like it was designed in a bloody shocking swath of shock and awe, even though these people advocated non-violence.
Wow- i sure did get to rub elbows with some interesting folks over the years. Groetz! ;-)
UPDATE: I know this post degenerated from a weird introduction to its subject, into an unusual anecdote about my childhood, but that's just how my servos fire off. For more about the actual subject, and to play along with Blue Beanie Day, be sure to follow @bluebeanieday on the Twitters!
